Measure ingredients like flour, sugar, milk and yeast into the non-stick baking pan. Select the loaf size, crust darkness and type of bread. Set the timer so the bread is done when you're ready to eat and then hit the start button.

It couldn't be easier to create new and delicious breads, just add a handful of nuts, seeds or dried fruit when the machine beeps. The second time it beeps, your bread is done to perfection!

The Sunbeam breadmaker is versatile. It makes 1 1/2-pound and 2-pound loaves of bread. There are twelve cooking functions that control the crust color, time of baking and type of bread.

A delay timer allows you to prepare the ingredients and set up the bread machine up to 13 hours in advance. Let's say you'd like to wake up to the smell of bread baking in the morning. All you do is fill the bread machine the night before, select the proper bread type and set the delay timer. Fresh bread will be waiting for you when you get up!

The non-stick removable baking pan lets the loaf slide right out when it's done baking. The pan is a snap to clean up, too. The mixing paddle comes out so it can be cleaned as well, just don't use harsh abrasives on the non-stick finish.

A special bake cycle sets this bread machine apart from other models. The ExpressBake cycle makes a loaf of bread in under an hour. It is suggested to not use the delay timer with the express cycle, which makes sense. If you want to delay baking the bread until a later time, you wouldn't need to use the express cycle.

If your dinner isn't quite ready when the bread is done, the Sunbeam bread maker will keep it warm. The bread maker has an automatic keep warm function that will keep your bread warm for up to one hour.

The Sunbeam Breadmaker has a viewing window where you can watch your bread being made. Each cycle is a little different, but here is an example of what happens for the basic cycle that takes 3 hours from start to finish. The timer starts at 3:00 and counts down to zero.

  • At 3:00 The dough is kneaded the first time for 10 minutes.
  • At 2:50 The dough begins to rise for 20 minutes.
  • At 2:30 The dough is kneaded a second time for 15 minutes.
  • At 2:15 The dough continues to rise for 20 minutes more.
  • At 1:55 The dough is punched down quickly in 30 seconds.
  • At 1:55 The dough rises again for 55 minutes.
  • At 1:00 The bread bakes for 50 minutes.
  • At 0:00 The bread is done.

Some of the cycles will not take as long to complete and not use all the steps you see here for the basic white bread.

The Sunbeam 5891 Breadmaker is supported by Sunbeam with one-year limited warranty.
